Newbury TV Repair Call 01635 925075

LG 65" OLED TV dead? We can repair it.

A series of LG 65" OLED TVs are developing faults that stop them switching on. It’s a repair we specialise in, and it’s usually much better than replacing the TV.

Is your LG OLED doing this?

  • Completely dead, with no standby light
  • Standby light comes on, but the TV won’t switch on
  • Only switches on from standby if you unplug it from the mains first
  • Trips the circuit breaker in your consumer unit when you plug it in or switch it on

If it only switches on after you unplug it

If your TV won’t come out of standby unless you unplug it from the mains first, don’t keep using it in that state. It can damage the TV and lead to a more expensive repair. Call us instead.

If it tripped your breaker

Unplug the TV and leave it unplugged. Don’t keep resetting the breaker and trying again. Call us instead.

If your LG OLED is doing any of these, we can repair it, so you don’t need to buy a new set.

Questions about LG OLED power supply faults

What is the power supply board in an LG OLED TV?

It’s the board inside the TV that takes in power from the mains and feeds the rest of the set. When it develops a fault, the TV can stop switching on properly or stop switching on at all.

Which LG 65 inch OLED TVs have this fault?

These power supply boards are fitted widely in 65 inch LG OLED models including OLED65B16LA, OLED65B19LA, OLED65B26LA, OLED65BX6LB, OLED65C16LA, OLED65C17LB, OLED65C18LA, OLED65CX3LA, OLED65CX5LB, OLED65CX6LA and OLED65CX8LB. The board part numbers include EAX69061001, EAY65689411, EAX69061002, EAY65689423 and EAY65689433. Your TV’s model number is on the sticker on the back.

How do I know if the power supply board is the problem?

Common signs are a TV that is completely dead with no standby light, a standby light that comes on but the TV won’t switch on, a TV that only switches on from standby after being unplugged from the mains, or a TV that tripped the circuit breaker. These often point to the power supply board, but only a proper check can confirm it.

What does a blown F601 fuse mean?

F601 is a fuse on the power supply board of these LG OLED TVs. When it blows, the TV can be completely dead. You can’t see it without opening the TV, so please don’t try. Call us and we’ll check it.

My TV only comes on if I unplug it first. Can I keep using it?

We’d advise against it. Using the TV in that state can damage it and lead to a more expensive repair. Call us instead.

Should I open the TV and look myself?

Please don’t, unless you are competent with electronics. Components on the power supply board can store a charge of around 450 volts, even when the TV is unplugged, and that can kill. If you’re not sure, leave the back on and call us.

Do I need to take the TV anywhere?

No. We come to your home and carry out the repair there. We’re based in Newbury and cover West Berkshire, Reading, Maidenhead, Basingstoke, Hungerford, Andover and as far as Swindon.

How much does the repair cost?

It depends on the model and the fault, so please call 01635 925075 with your TV’s model number and what it’s doing, and we’ll give you a no-nonsense quote.
